In alignment with AHA's rebrand, "Life Is Why," the 2014 San Diego Heart and Stroke Walk designs are based on the phrase "So many reasons to live... so many reasons to walk." Through interviews and personal research, I determined some of the top moments/experiences/things people live for – both significant and trivial. Hand-sketches were created representing the things that made people feel joy/wonder/happiness and were translated into vector illustrations. The sketches were pieced together into the shape of the AHA heart, including the tagline that led to the sketches.
To get the word out about the walk, a minute-long promotional video was also created to be shared across social media. The video uses the same illustrations as the t-shirt, but animates them with upbeat music and a narrative that encourages viewers to attend the walk.
